From baby quilts to king sized quilts and blankets in between

I am making this a picture heavy post, I've got lots to show this month!

A sweet little baby quilt has wiggled it's way into the shop this evening
Actually if I'm being pedantic it is a blanket not a quilt as it has no wadding just a patchwork top and this pretty pink flannel quilted together and bound.

After some of the finishes I've had so far this year I think I just needed a straight forward make and this really just fit the bill! I'm chuffed to bits with how it's turned out.

If you follow me over on flickr you may well have seen this crochet blanket ever so slowly growing. One of the things I really enjoy about crochet is that you can pick it up and put it down whenever you fancy and this has been no exception.

I still have a few more colours to add but it's already being used to snuggle under while we're watching movies on an evening.

This next one is my giant star quilt, I have no idea who to give the credit to for this pattern as I've seen a few of them around blogland but both Katy and a woman on a rocket cycle  have similar ones and equally provide inspiration!

Quilting close up. I think this crinkled up perfectly and has soooo much texture.

Random arty iphone photo :)

I do really love this fabric collection, its been out of print for ages now unfortunately or I'd be snapping more of it up.
I like this quilt so much it's staying right here with us :)

And lastly for today is my second Bloom quilt, thrown over my bed to get pics as it's a Big Boy at just over king size

and two pillow case sets that were made to go with, I didn't remember to take photos of the white ones sewn up but you get the idea :)

These went off the their new home on Monday so should be in their new house by now :)

The rest of my evening shall be spent with this stitch ripper and some terrible tension quilting, I have ignored this quilt for over a year because I couldn't face ripping this out after my old machine decided it  didn't want to free motion quilt any more

wish me luck!

January has been a busy one!

So crochet, baking and cake eating has been called for!
Fell off the Primal wagon with cake but boy it was good!

This is 'Bella protesting, if I have a hook in my hands she isn't getting her daily quota of fussing and as her chief minion I should be fussing not hooking!

I've also joined back up to the 3x6 Sampler Bee I'm in one of the star hives so thought I could do with some inspiration mosaics

These photo's aren't mine, I just really like them! If one belongs to you and you would like me to remove it please do let me know and I'll do it straight away!

info here
and how about this one for colours :D

info here

So I'm playing with star patterns and trying to work out which one I'll go with. I'm thinking start simple and work from there!

I do enjoy sewing up trial runs as any blocks that I like can be used in the quilt Win - Win!

I finally added the binding onto my giant star quilt, if you follow my flickr stream you will already know this is taken on my kitchen floor - turns out the quilt is larger than my available floor space! UK daylight is non-existent at the moment so this is the best I can do until we get a little sunshine.
If anyone knows the person that thought to blow up this block into a quilt sized monster could you please let me know so I can credit them.

My other WIP is another Bloom, this time all in yellows

At some point today I'm thinking I'll get it basted to it's top...if i'm really lucky I might even get the quilt basted. As this one is going to be a king size quilt I added another round of petals, I didn't want it looking lost in all of that space.

Boxing day, the calm after the storm!

I hope you had a great Christmas day! We had a very quiet one just me, Him in doors, Madam and Issabella for the full day! It was bliss :D I even napped on the sofa, I woke up to see a millennium falcon had been made on my coffee table (Him in doors not Madam!) out of the Lego kit that was at the top of his wish list and should have taken a few days to make not a nap. Needless to say our Christmas lunch was at 4 not 12 :D

He is very proud of it, so proud infact that when I pointed out I didn't have a photo to show the world of his creation he buggered off downstairs and took one himself!

In other news, what would my blog be at Christmas time if I didn't show another pic of 'Bella in the Christmas tree?

She climbed the little tree more times than was good for her this year and a water bottle has been introduced to the game, so she regularly gets soaked now.

I'm always left in a bit of a rubbish mood on boxing day, my sugar high has finally ended and I'm left with little to plan for over the next few weeks. So to combat the grinch feeling I'm on the hunt for a good QAL or mini swap that I can get my teeth into in January, any ideas or recommendations?

One thing I am doing today is putting my Etsy shop into sale :D
So to procrastinate further and avoid doing any actual work for just a little while longer I made a pretty picture!

No codes to put in on the shopping cart as everything is discounted down already, I like it when shopping is easy to do!
So pop over to the shop and have a look around.

Hope you have a relaxed Boxing day with friends and family and plenty of time for sewing and making!
